Garden consultation
This option is perfect if you are wanting to DIY your own works but need guidance, need a step-by-step guide on how to look after your garden or want to slowly start the garden design process.
This service includes a 1-1.5hr in person onsite visit and discussion of your goals for your garden. This is presented to you on an A4 printable PDF for your reference and an A1/A2 size concept design of your project. Consultation may include the following:
Sun map showing microclimates
Soil test and information of soil profiles in your area
Guide on how to stage works / break down of works to be completed
Cultural gardening technique notes/guide
Maintenance guide
Photographs of your site including plants, what to retain and what to remove. Images are used as a visual guide
Plant ID and cultural notes of plants on your site
Planting schedule/recommendations of plants to suit your site, soil type and goals
Mood board with colour palette, textures and inspirational ideas
Printable concept plan (Scaled A1/A2 design)
Softscape/hardscape recommendations
Local supplier recommendations
Cost $600 - $795 + gst (depending on block size, complexity/details of works and time taken to complete). Consultation document and concept design may take from 2 to 4 weeks to complete

Garden design
Our gardens are plant focused designs with functional elements such as pathways, productive garden beds, playspace and wildlife havens.
Process may include:
1-1.5hr in person onsite visit and discussion of your goals for your space
Welcome pack outlining our process
Moodboard
Concept design
Main design 2D scale plan (3D upon request)
Planting schedule (ie. plants, quantities, placement)
Hardscape selection
Softscape selection (ie. soils, mulches)
Landscape construction recommendation

Garden maintenance
We pride ourselves in using battery powered Stihl equipment where possible. We will work with you to have your garden thriving. Visits can be scheduled from weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or even one-offs. We are full insured for your piece of mind.
We look after your garden holistically and focus on the following:
Hedging (under 2m), pruning, topiary and shaping
Hand weeding and weed management
Mulching and composting garden beds
Brush cutting and mowing
Using organic fertilisers including liquid feeds and compost blends
Using permaculture methods for pest control and encourage beneficial bugs into your garden
Using organic pesticides if needed
Garden re-vamp from full gardens to sections
Garden clean-ups
Seasonal planting including perennial displays, native cottage gardens, water wise garden and habitat focused gardens
Balcony gardens
Pot plant arrangements
Garden bed preparations
Softscaping including soils, mulching and full plant outs
Commercial properties such as apartment gardens, communal spaces and body corporate
Garden health check
Do you have a problematic area in your garden? It can be frustrating and time wasting when you are unsure how to resolve the issue. Our health check will provide you with an onsite inspection and PDF report to help you manage the issues your garden is experiencing.
Report may include:
pH test / basic soil profile
Soil type information
Microclimates
Pest issues
Soil issues
Other issues
Information / process how to resolve issue
If you were looking to have Vivid Tones Horticulture resolve your issue, we work on an hourly basis. Please advise if you would like this option.
Cost $150 + gst for 1hr visit and PDF report.

Plant schedules/design & procurement
Just want plants for your project? We can create a planting schedule for your needs and/or source the plants for your. We aim to get the best possible stock available and will discuss appropriate substitutes if stock if not available.
Step 1: Plant schedule/design
Onsite/in person visit to discuss your goals & ideas. As site analysis takes place to ensure site layout/aspect, soil, any challenges are considered
Planning and research to ensure suitable plants are selected
Basic hand or digital concept plan with plant layout and quantities is created
You will be presented with a mood board/plant schedule including images, detailed plant information, pot size for sourcing and quantities
The plant schedule cost $495 + gst for most projects. If you have a more complex project, alternate pricing will be provided to you.
Step 2A: Plant sourcing
A quote will be presented to you with the plant quantities, sizes, pricing and delivery. A date will be arranged for delivery. Deposit of 50% quote may be required to secure plants
The final invoice will be presented to you prior to delivery
Step 2B: Vivid Tones Horticulture to do plant sourcing & installation OR plant sourcing & plant set out
The quote will include the same as above plus organic fertiliser, stakes/tree guards/any additional accompaniments for planting and labour OR plant set out (if you want to install the plants yourself)
Once the quote is approved, a date for installation is scheduled and plants/materials will be ordered. Deposit of 50% quote may be required to secure plants
The final invoice will be presented to you once the work has been completed.

Please note: we are not a landscape construction business. We can install garden edging, all aspects of softscaping, basic irrigation systems, turf, pathways and other basic hardscapes.
